Jai & I (Talksik) were in the middle of a writing session when he received a text saying Michael suffered Cardiac Arrest. I didn’t pay it much attention til I received that same text from my brother moments later. So we made our way to the TV room and checked BET, CNN & BBC. Getting the final word from a very emotional ROXY from BET’s 106 & Park that Michael had passed.

I was definitely in shock, that was followed by quiet tears. We ended up canceling the rest of the session and watching clips and vids of one of our hero’s. And that’s when it started to hit me a lot more. But for some reason I didn’t feel to be too public about how this lost was hurting me.  And I still feel this way. (This Blog post was quite tough to post).
I’d rather just listen to all his amazing work and reminisce on his greatness alone. No bad/negative thoughts via the media, just a beautiful voice surrounded by timeless music. And of course we’ll all have a greater appreciation for his music now that he’s gone. That’s just how it goes.

I’ve learned so much from MJ. Commitment, sacrifice, determination, focus, humility, Love, The will to be great, true melody, passion, rhythm, confidence, swagger. And I thank him for that every time we, The Gifted Club make a great song, beat, lyric, melody. Yes, I’m sad that he is no longer here but very thankful that I can continue to have him around through his incredible music. Thanks Mike! We love you you’ll truly be missed.
